About Ecumenical Channel

Ecumenical Channel (普世頻道) is a Hong Kong–based Christian blog and news platform publishing theological reflection, social commentary, and liberation theology perspectives in both English and Chinese.

The site grew out of the work of the Student Christian Movement of Hong Kong (SCM HK) and Spring Church (春天教會), bringing together students, believers, and contributors engaged with faith and public life.

Our Purpose

Ecumenical Channel exists to carry theological reflection, news reporting, and Bible study into conversation with the realities of Hong Kong society. Articles explore biblical interpretation, social justice, and current events from an ecumenical, socially conscious standpoint.

Content spans categories such as Reflection on Faith, EC News, Liberating Bible, and commentary on labor and civic issues — written by contributors including Kim Ling, Frankie Ng, Mark L, Fiona Lee, and Zhu Qizheng.

Connected to a Wider Movement

The channel's roots lie with the Student Christian Movement of Hong Kong and Spring Church, which inform its ecumenical and socially engaged tone. Pieces have addressed topics ranging from the Tiananmen Student Movement to support for striking dockworkers, from biblical interpretation of Sodom's destruction to reflections on nonviolent resistance.

Readers can follow further discussion and updates through the channel's Facebook page.
